Join us for a special edition of Homegrown Tales, “A Front Porch Evening,” when film and television producer and director Harry Thomason tells “tales” and reads from his book, Brother Dog, at 6 p.m. on August 7, at Brews, 2 Pine St, Eureka Springs, AR.
Thomason’s remarkable story spans from coaching high school sports in Arkansas to producing feature films in Hollywood, rubbing shoulders with presidents, and earning a reputation for producing hit TV shows like Designing Women, Evening Shade, and Hearts Afire. His journey is a testament to his determination, creativity, and passion for storytelling.
The event will feature Thomason reading from his book, which offers a humorous and poignant look at his working-class childhood in the rural South during the 1950s and 60s. In his book, he shares stories of his rise to success, including encounters with notable figures like Chuck Berry, Tony Blair, and Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Following the reading, Thomason will sign copies of his book. The evening will also feature music by Missouri Arts Council Touring Performer Mick Byrd, a blues musician and member of the Missouri Blues Society and Tennessee Songwriters Association International. Special “signature show” cocktails will be available during the evening .
Homegrown Tales is a bi-monthly storytelling program produced by veteran storytellers Sandra Spotts and Zeek Taylor. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
Join us for an unforgettable evening of storytelling and inspiration as we welcome Harry Thomason to Eureka Springs!
